Important Notice for Newark Voters: School Board Elections Date Correction on Mail-In Ballots

It's that time again! School board elections are coming up in Newark next Tuesday, April 16th, to be exact.

A crucial typo is in the mail-in ballot instructions distributed to voters in Newark for the upcoming School Board elections. The original instructions incorrectly stated the election date as April 18th. However, the correct date for the elections is Tuesday, April 16th.

Upon discovering this mistake, a concerned citizen contacted us. We contacted the Essex County City Clerk's office to inform them of this typo and request what can be shared with Newark voters immediately. The City Clerk's office acknowledged the error and initiated corrective measures. They will disseminate updates through social media channels to mitigate any confusion. Disregard the incorrect date on the mail-in ballot instructions and promptly arrange to submit your mail-in ballot or plan to visit your polling station on Tuesday, April 16th.
