Welcome to the inaugural edition of The Hood Report, your bi-weekly dose of stories, insights, and opportunities from the heart of Newark, brought to you by Five Wards Media & The Newark News & Story Collaborative.

Last week, we kicked off our South Ward, West Ward, and LGBTQ+ community media labs! Woooooooooooooooooo MAKE SOME NOISE!

Over the next 11 weeks, our community media fellows will learn from experts in the field of media and create multimedia projects about their Newark stories and lives. Our alumni fellow, Flisadam Pointer, is joining us as the lead facilitator for our Clinton Hill cohort! A special shout-out to Newark LISC; your support allowed us to launch new neighborhood cohorts. We are so grateful and excited for the stories that will come from all of our media fellows.
