Happy Friday fam! We hope you are doing well and staying cool! Today and Saturday will be some of the hottest days. The city has officially called a CODE RED.

If you are in need, call (973) 733-4311 for support. The lines are open until 8 pm. You can also visit your local library, and expanded list of cooling stations across Essex County.

nj211.org has many resources for cooling center information and other needs.

This week, community members were (and still) outraged by a promotional video for an event "Nuttin But Azz" scheduled for July at West Side High School. The video featured women in thongs, twerking in the high school's basketball gym. School board members and Councilman Anibal Ramos call for a deeper investigation into how this happened and who authorized the promotional video and event.
